I'm very much looking forward to reconnecting with the wonderful Muslim community in Minnesota this weekend for the 18th Annual Minnesota Muslim Convention.

I’m excited and anxious about my trip to Australia. The anxiety (in a good way I must say) involves my study of Surat al Mumtahana (#6. It has been an exhaustive mental exercise and continued to be. I have loved this exploration and have been truly challenged by it. Grasping the classical traditional tafasir, the rhetorical nuances, the etymology of its words, the narrations surrounding its historical backdrop have all been fascinating but at the end of it all comes the hardest work: what does it all mean for a believer today?
